(approx. 120 mins)

An NCPA Presentation

A trained Bharatanatyam dancer, art consultant and critic for over three decades, Usha RK has conceptualised Divya Dwayam, which will be performed by some of the finest young dancers of the country. The gods and goddesses are often identified by their attributes, their vehicles, their weapons, the flowers they love, the colours they wear, the hand gestures they use, the musical instruments they play, etc. Divya Dwayam will showcase two aspects – Divya Astra or weapons and Divya Vahana or vehicles. In Hinduism, an astra is a supernatural weapon, presided over by a specific deity. The evening will showcase Vishnu’s Sudarshana Chakra by Mithun Shyam, Shiva’s bow pinaka astra by Parshwanath Upadhye and trishoola astra by Dakshina Vaidyanathan Baghel. The evening will also showcase vahanas (vehicles): hamsa, gaja and garuda by renowned artistes.
