The seminar will be inaugurated by Shekhar Sen, Chairperson, Sangeet Natak Akademi. Dr. Pappu Venugopal Rao, a well-known musicologist, will deliver the keynote address. This seminar will attempt to chronologically retrace the journey of vocal music from the Vedic period up to the contemporary scenario, with relevant details. Presentations by experts in each session will trace the evolution duly supported by demonstrations. The presenters will include well-known personalities from the field of music: Dr. Pappu Venugopal Rao, Ajoy Chakrabarty, Arvind Parikh, Piyal Bhattacharya and Ritwik Sanyal.
