Ajoy Chakrabarty will be joined by his disciples as well as two talented young artistes: Anwesshaa and Mohammed Vakil, who will present the Hindi film songs.

A raga is a definite melodic structure governed by explicit rules, whereas a dhun is a related tonal entity that cannot be so rigidly defined. The Hindi film music is greatly influenced by genres such as thumri and its allied forms, using myriad dhuns based on traditional ragas. While film music is immensely popular, the raga music itself is little known.

In an attempt to highlight the significance of the invaluable wealth of ragas and its connection with dhun, Ajoy Chakrabarty, the eminent vocalist and respected Guru of Patiala gharana, will present some ragas along with film songs based on the corresponding dhuns.
